POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY
Primary focus to manage all Airport Commercial tenders at any given time. Toward growing Commercial business and ensure maximum revenue generation. Lynchpin between Commercial Operations and Commercial Business. Building core business capabilities through space/revenue optimization while ensuring continuous improvement; business sustainability and higher stakeholder value, within Commercial Division and MAHB Group. Strong ability to work cross-functionally, including matrix reporting.
Essential Position Functions
- Prepare the overall Master Implementation plans of all business development activities, alongside the BDS unit. From the pre-tender stage of Strategy & Planning, through to execution of the entire Tender process (including Tender advertisement/ documents, bid process, open/ close, TEC- evaluation committee, clarification & final recommendations), up till tender award, and all related Management/ Board approvals.
- Periodical tender plan and status report, thus improving existing templates (formats, content, context & frequency). For example, regular monthly Tender Status Report.
- Formulate and maintain the Tender Management Unit’s policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Maintain effective working relationships with all internal & external stakeholders, including business partners, government agencies, and aviation community partners.
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly/yearly budget for the Unit.
- To ensure an effective and efficient process of evaluation of business proposals for Tenancy/Services and preparation of related management papers for approval.
- To perform any other ad hoc tasks or duties as directed by Superior(s) or Management.
Key Challenges
- Stakeholder engagements (internal and external) on Airport Commercial business offerings and agreements finalisation.
- To sustain the current airport businesses and to ensure the retender/ renewal of agreement on Tenants/Concessionaires hene maximise revenue for Commercial Services Division.
- Mitigating risks in all processes within Commercial Services scope of work and responsibilities
- Preparation of Board/BPC/MPC and management papers and presenting for approvals.
Skills
- Experienced within the aviation-airport retail industry.
- Proven leadership, with strong analytical skills and strategic orientation.
- Track record in managing a skilled/ experienced and results-oriented team.
- Passion in retail and business development, with strong working knowledge of the airport retail value chain.
- Ability in providing market, industry and business intelligence to Management, through internal and external research & analysis.
- Highly organized and meticulous at work, coupled with a personified can-do attitude.
- Solid organisational, project and time management skills .
- Proven commitment and consistency, with the ability to independently drive results and build performing teams.
- Highly articulate with excellent interpersonal communication skills. hence command of both English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken & written).
- Self motivated with a strong drive for excellence.
Relevant Industries
Internal - Degree with minimum 3 years relevant experience in Senior Executive role, OR
- Diploma with minimum 5 years relevant experience in Senior Executive role, OR
- Certificate with minimum 7 years relevant experience in Senior Executive role
- Must achieve and maintain the following performance rating for two (2) consecutive years of at least
- Exceptional / A or Outstanding / B; and
- Minimum Meet Expectations / C
- The employee must not be subjected to disciplinary punishments except for disciplinary counselling, caution, reminder & warning for the past 36 consecutive months immediately preceding the promotion

- Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

- Degree holder preferably with Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent
- Master Degree would be an added advantage
