Reports directly to the Into-Plane General Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management and training of maintenance personnel, PMQC (Preventive maintenance and Quality Control) of fueling assets, procurement of all Into-Plane replacement parts and equipment safety. Instructs technicians and ensures all maintenance and quality control records are in compliance with ATA 103 and airline specifications.
Job Description:
Responsible for oversight of the Maintenance Staff, Maintenance Operations and equipment. The position will partner with Labor, Management, HR, DFW Airport, partner airlines and operational leaders in all departments that utilize fueling equipment. Additionally, the manager will interact to solve operational matters in a safe and ethical manner in accordance with the high standards of Allied Aviation.
Duties include the following:
· Administer and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the Into-Plane GM and airline partners
· Assure continuing safety, compliance, dependability and reliability of the fueling equipment as well as the full life cycle of the into-plane assets
· Assure harmonious working relationship with union workforce and understanding / application of union contractual language
· Make recommendations on training needs and ensure employees are current on all required training
· Develop and manage the department budget and ensures that financial and performance goals are met
· Manage tooling inventory
· Monitor equipment preventative maintenance tasks, in-service rates and implement corrective measures to achieve departmental goals
· Review equipment related aircraft damage and employee injuries investigations to ensure root cause is identified and resolved
· Create business cases for equipment lease / buy decisions, and inventory purchases to support maintenance of company equipment
· Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to achieve department and company objectives and motivate workers to achieve work goals
Requirements:
· Must possess valid state driver's license, be able to complete a ten-year background check and obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge
· Associates degree in relevant field or equivalent GSE mechanical experience/training
· 5 years of experience in mechanical workings of fuel trucks, hydrant vehicles. Understanding of aircraft fueling vehicles preferred.
· 3-5 years’ experience managing, supervising and/or directing workgroups in a union environment
· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of a ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance operation
· Automotive, ground support equipment or heavy equipment operations experience in production along with parts procurement as a manager, supervisor or lead mechanic
· Be available to work shift work, weekends and/or holidays, report to work on a regular basis and be available to respond in an emergency
· Must be able to operate within budgetary restraints
· Self-motivated and ability to handle critical situations and multiple projects concurrently with stringent deadlines
· Above average written and oral communication and interpersonal skills is required
· Knowledge of ATA-103, NFPA 407 and local authority rules and regulations
· Proficient in computer knowledge including software applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
· ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications a plus
