Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI

Tasks
- Provide technical engineering and manufacturing support for the NPI cell
- Participate in all NPI design reviews to understand mechanical, optical, software and electrical design concepts
- Support the NPI assembly activities by trouble shooting technical problems
- Participate in daily NPI production meetings and help manage engineering action lists
- Identify required design changes to existing designs based upon NPI technical support
- Obtain technical assistance as required from senior engineering design staff to ensure alpha, beta and prototype units meet functional requirements
- Assist design engineers by performing specials tests, prototypes, experiments, mock-ups, etc.
- Manage the configuration and functional performance of engineering development hardware
Skills Required
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Knowledge of Control System design
- Experience with oscilloscopes and other electrical diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of analog and digital video standards
- Knowledge of wiring, connector and backshells per Mil-Std-38999
- Knowledge of servos, microprocessors, DC power distribution, switching power supplies
- Knowledge of shielding, bonding, grounding, EMI/EMC and impedance matching principles
- Knowledge of aircraft and military standard testing (eg. MIL-810, MIL-461, MIL-704, ESS, HALT)
- Understanding of vibration isolation and troubleshooting
- An appreciation of Mechanical, Electrical and Software development tools
- CAD Design using IDEAS, AutoCAD, Solidworks
- RTEMS and vxWorks RTOS
- Schematic capture tools, ORCAD, Allegro
- Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent understanding of L-3 Wescam configuration and QA procedures
- Excellent written and oral communications ability
Experience & Education Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, EE, Mechantronics degrees) or equivalent on the job experience
- 3 - 5 years hands-on technical experience working on advanced electronics systems
- 1 - 3 years hands-on technical experience working on advanced surveillance systems considered an asset
