The role:
An exciting opportunity to join British Airways as a Senior Internal Communications Manager on a 6 month FTC/secondment has arisen!
Working in our Corporate Affairs team, you will be accountable for planning and delivering strategic communications and campaigns to increase colleague engagement and trust, as well as advising and offering the tools our leaders across the business require to engage their people with confidence.
What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic counsel and guidance to the CEO and MC members and advise on all aspects of colleague communication and engagement, working in a strategic capacity, fully taking into account internal and external landscapes and agendas.
- Plan and deliver the company's corporate internal narrative and key messaging, plus creative communications across analogue and digital channels.
- Support the planning and delivery of critical and sensitive business communications, relating to financial results, industrial relations and business restructures.
- Amplify external opportunities for colleague engagement and protect the company’s reputation.
- Play a senior role in the Crisis Communication team and out-of-hours on-call roster, ensuring sound knowledge of the crisis comms manual.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage and influence at all levels of the business, backing up challenge with robust evidence and data.
- A passion for continuous improvement, inspiring excellence and creativity within the team.
- Good understanding of communication and engagement practices and the ability to bring a business priority to life.
- Able to understand and use data and analytics to offer insights and inform critical decision making.
Your experience:
- Internal communications and engagement experience is essential to this role.
- Qualification and/or experience in a related field.
- Extensive background in designing and delivering impactful colleague communication activity.
- Experience of working within a complex, unionised environment is essential.
- Crisis communication experience is desirable.
