A Day In The Life of an Aviation MRO Maintenance Manager
As an Aviation MRO Maintenance Manager, you will work under the administrative direction of the VP of Operations with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for business operations and driving continuous improvement efforts to grow the business unit. Your focus will be on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations.
Essential Duties
- Direct Activities: Oversee departments concerned with production, sales, and distribution of products.
- Staff Management: Prepare work schedules and assign specific duties to staff.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company standards through quality procedures and manuals.
- Performance Review: Review sales, operational metrics, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, identifying areas needing cost reduction and improvement.
- Workflow Management: Improve workflow through constraint and bottleneck processes.
- Personnel Management: Lead staff to achieve operational goals, including staffing, interviewing, hiring, cross-training, and training new employees.
- Optimization: Perform shop floor optimization and lean improvements, ensuring conflict resolution to drive profitable growth.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with other management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and human power.

Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 5-10 years in operations management.
- License: FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.
- Technical Knowledge: General knowledge in engineering, contracts administration, or program management.
- Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written English.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office products.
- Team Player: Contributes ideas and solutions.
- Communication: Strong communication skills.
