Airfield Manager/Assistant Airfield Manager (Pending Contract Award)
The Airfield Manager is responsible for the overall management of airfield management facilities and services to provide a safe, efficient, and effective airfield environment for aircraft operations.
The Airfield Manager shall also:
- Provide direct supervision and management of all personnel working in AM.
- Accomplishes Annual Airfield Certification and Safety Inspection.
- Develops parking plans.
- Performs airfield inspections and checks for safety and compliance with planning and design criteria.
- Plans, organizes, and directs airfield activities to include airfield construction/repairs, airfield driving program, ice/snow removal operations, Bird/Wildlife control.
- Process domestic and international flight plans.
- Coordinates with base agencies to meet aircrew requirements for billeting, messing, refueling,
- transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.
- Manage the airfield environment to support base, tenant and transient flying operations.
- Process airfield restrictions and closures.
- Ensure NOTAMs are processed.
- Serve as the WADPM and manage the Airfield Driving Program.
Education:
Graduate of an approved DoD/Advanced Airfield Managers course or equivalent.
Experience:
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in AM (1 of the 3 years must be working
- in an AM facility at the 1C771 level). Airfield and Deputy Airfield Managers shall meet the experience requirement as listed in the AFMAN 13-204v2. Both require experience including the following: Duties including all airport management and coordination between air-traffic control and maintenance personnel; supervising airfield maintenance and construction projects.
- Coordinating hazardous cargo and live fire device movements. Conduct airfield inspections in accordance with AFMAN13-204v2. Has documented knowledge or experience with ICAO procedures. Experience implementing airfield safety procedures; generating and facilitating airfield flight line drivers’ program. Managing local flight information publications. Validating and publishing NOTAMs.
- Must currently have and maintain a Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required for a Secret Clearance.
Medical
- Ability to obtain and maintain deployment Medical Certificate
