M3 is seeking skilled UAV operators (UAS) Pilots to join our groundbreaking codling moth Sterile Insect Release (SIR) project in Moses Lake, WA. As a pioneer in the application of UAS technology in agriculture, we are dedicated to revolutionizing pest control methods in orchards. In collaboration with federal and academic partners, we are at the forefront of developing innovative UAS solutions for the agricultural industry.
Responsibilities:
- Operate UAS to release sterile codling moths in targeted orchards
- Conduct pre-flight checks, mission planning, and post-flight debriefs
- Maintain and troubleshoot UAS equipment
- Adhere to all FAA regulations and safety protocols
- Collect and report flight data for analysis and optimization
- Collaborate with the SIR team to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the program
Requirements:
- Valid Part 107 certification
- Proficient in operating UAS, preferably with experience in agricultural applications
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reside within a one-hour drive of Moses Lake, WA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with orchard operations and practices
